BOUNDARIES
A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible, thus defining who we are and who we are not. For us to have control of our lives in a positive way, be able to say no and ensure that we are not taken advantage of, boundaries are critical. This video course is a great opportunity to learn more about what it means to have boundaries and to talk about it with others on the journey. The Boundaries course is offered as interest arises. Please contact our Parish Nurse Intern, Kathy at 780-435-2243 or glegloff@telusplanet.net if you are interested.

PARISH NURSING & our Health Channel
New at The River! We are excited to announce a new staff position at The River. Kathy Dempsey-Glegloff has agreed to be our 'Health Ministry Director'. As such, she will help with coordination of the Restore Zone and Oasis Ministries. Kathy is a registered nurse and completed her Parish Nursing certificate from Concordia University in April 2009.
What is a Parish Nurse?
A parish nurse is a registered nurse with specialized knowledge, who is called to ministry and affirmed by a faith community to promote health, healing and wholeness. (http://www.capnm.ca)
Kathy's role is still a work in progress but as of October 1, she will have regular office hours (Tuesday afternoon, Thursday morning & Friday afternoon). She can be contacted at home (780) 435-2243, on her cell (780) 983-3826 or via email kathy@rivercommunity.ca. CELEBRATE RECOVERY
By working through "8 Recovery Principles" (based on the Bible and the 12 Steps), participants in this group will begin to grow, gain freedom from addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviours and come to experience peace, serenity, joy and stronger relationships with God and others. This group hopes to begin meeting regularly in the near future. Please contact Ken Rawson at 432-4199 or kdrawson@shaw.ca to find out more and/or to get involved.
PRAYER MINISTRY
When we work, we work; when we pray God works! Prayer under girds and empowers all that we do at the River.
Prayer Group
The prayer group is also a wonderful way to connect with and get to
know other people as we bring our praises and petitions to God’s
attentive ear. Everyone is welcome on Thursday evenings from
7:30-8:30 PM. Contact Bill
and Heather Marshall, 463-4365 for more
information.
Personal Prayer Support
